Scoped token, revocable
Connecting mints a named extension token you can revoke from Settings at any time. No repository contents are read.
After you install: three steps
A short guide opens in a new tab the first time the extension is installed. It ticks each step off on its own, and you can skip it.
- Connect your GitChat account — you sign in with GitHub, and the token can be revoked from Settings.
- Open a GitHub repository, issue or pull request — a GitChat tab appears in its navigation.
- Send a first message, or invite a collaborator from their GitHub profile.

Profiles, issues, pull requests, files and plain articles all render as cards inside the thread — state, labels, diff stats and all. Nobody has to leave the conversation to know what you meant.
